        INTRODUCTION

Any type of bladder cancer occurs mostly in the middle age and the elderly. Urothelial cell
carcinomas (UCC) are frequently diagnosed lesions of the bladder, representing over 90% of all

malignancies with this location and men to women ratio of 7:1. At initial diagnosis, more than 80%
of bladder cancers are confined to the mucosa (Tis, Ta) or lamina propria (T1) and recurrence is

47% within a year. Cystoscopy is the golden standardized procedure to detection of bladder
cancer early and to control of cancer patients. But this procedure is invasive or painful, expensive

and miss the cancer lesion, around 10%. Cytology is the commonest used and non-invasive

diagnostic method for bladder cancer. Although, its high specificity, the sensitivity is lower (28-
100%). The most common diagnostic test for high grade urothelial cell carcinoma is urinary

        cytology, Paris classification.

        STUDY AIM

Validation Study of urinary cytology and biomarkers to detection of urothelial cell carcinoma of
bladder by two-step centrifugation/fixation processing technique.

        METHODOLOGY

Take the bladder washing material from patients with a known history of bladder cancer or
suspicion of bladder tumor based on workup of hematuria were prospectively collected within

institutional review board approval. All urinary samples were tested for urinary C as well as 4 other

urinary biomarkers: Hemoglobin Dipstick, BTA Stat, NMP22 Bladder Chek ба Immuno Cyt after
two-step centrifugation/fixation. Sensitivities, specificities, negative predictive values, positive

predictive values and efficacy of C and the other biomarkers were calculated and assessed for
each test separately then as part of combinations including urinary C. P˂0.05 was considered

        statistically significant.
